College Certificate: (PTT-CERT)
About the Program
The Physical Therapy Technician (PTT) Certificate provides the unique opportunity for students to earn a Physical Therapy Technician Certificate while completing prerequisite courses necessary for admission to most Associate of Applied Science Physical Therapist Assistant Programs.
The PTT Certificate is a short-term program designed to introduce students to the chief responsibilities of the position, which include assisting in routine patient care services under the direct supervision of a licensed physical therapist or physical therapist assistant, managing and maintaining physical therapy equipment, and assisting with administrative duties. This program may also serve as a pathway to Physical Therapist Assistant Associate Degree Programs.

College Certificate Goals
Upon completion of the Physical Therapy Technician Program, graduates will be able to:
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills to assist in basic physical therapy services under the direct supervision of a licensed physical therapist or physical therapist assistant.
College Certificate Outcomes
Students/graduates will be prepared for entry-level positions providing support to physical therapists and physical therapist assistants.
- Students/graduates will demonstrate the skills and knowledge necessary to perform administrative duties in physical therapy clinics.
Admission Requirements
Students interested in pursuing this certificate must first be accepted to the WCCCD.
The PTT program is a non-selective, openenrollment program. The open-enrollment period will occur during the fall semester of each year. All applicants who are enrolled in the WCCCD and in good-standing, will be eligible to be admitted into the PTT Program. There is no secondary application process.
Students will be enrolled on a first-come, firstserved basis during the open-enrollment period until all seats are filled. When all seats have been filled, the potential student’s name will be placed on a waiting list.
