Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) Degree

This degree is designed to prepare students for immediate employment in specialized areas such as mechanical and engineering technologies, health, business and office technologies and human services.

The A.A.S. degree is usually considered for vocational technological and occupational fields leading directly to employment in such areas as nursing, criminal justice, aviation mechanics, child care, gerontology, mental health, addiction studies, drafting or computer technology. However, many WCCCD students with the A.A.S. degree transfer to four-year colleges to continue their education while working. In order to receive the A.A.S. degree, students must:

Complete the “Requirements for All Degrees” as listed in each program
Refer to the specific A.A.S. degree program for the required program credits
Adhere to the program course requirements for the specific A.A.S. degree desired
